Perla is a mental health professional, who started working in the humanitarian sector with refugees while in college, providing psychological support and getting experience with diverse populations, handling a wide range of needs. In addition, and over the years, she has participated in the development and delivery of several workshops tackling different topics (Child Protection, Domestic Violence, Substance Abuse, Bullying, Stress Management etc.). Simultaneously, and following a disaster that had occurred in her home country, she became an active volunteer with local NGOs, by providing online and in-person psychological support sessions to children and adults affected by the disaster. She then proceeded to co-found a grass-root volunteer-based local NGO that aims to empower youth, increase their skills and abilities, and encourage them to become actively involved in their community.
Passionate and perpetually curious, she continues to work in research on post-traumatic stress disorder in addition to providing in-person and online psychotherapy sessions.
