Catia is a Clinical Psychologist who studied psychology at the University of Coimbra, in Portugal. Her master’s degree was in Clinical Psychology, in the cognitive-behavioural area. As a master’s thesis, Catia worked on a psychological assessment scale related to anxiety and avoidance due to weight and physical appearance. She did her internship in a psychiatric hospital, and then she graduated in cognitive-behavioural therapies and took a course in 3rd generation therapies (mindfulness). Then she always worked in a private clinic, in an inpatient environment, where she addressed issues other than addictions, anxiety, depression, stress, eating disorders, and personality disorders (e.g., borderline, bipolar). She’s particularly interested in the area of addiction, which is also one of the areas she has worked on, focusing on relapse prevention.

What I'm excited to bring to Fitcy Health members:
Congratulations! Being here is already proof that you have courage and that you have already taken the first step to change, by seeking help. To let you know a little about me, I can say that Psychology and interaction with others is what I’m passionate about. I believe that people experience the same problems, albeit in different ways, and I like to challenge myself to help each one in the way that best suits their own needs. In addition to focusing on the problem, this interaction allows you to carry out a process of self-discovery and development that ends up helping you in different areas of your life and not just the one you sought help for. Through an empathic approach, it is possible to discover blocks that allow you to become aware of the source of your difficulty and then work on strategies to deal with it. I am here to listen to you without judging and together to help you discover the best way to make you feel balanced. I look forward to meeting you. If at the end of each session you feel a little more relieved, we’ve done a good job. We work in baby steps.
