Mercedes feels very motivated by her profession and she enjoys being part of individual’s journey towards wellbeing. She considers herself to be a very empathetic and sensitive person, and believes that these characteristics have guided her towards this path. She strongly thinks that self – knowledge and awareness helps us to function and adapt better to our sociocultural environment. Self-knowledge is a process, the norms of society are imbedded in us and sometimes we need to make changes and have different perspectives of our lives. She has mix descent, born in Argentina with Italian and British roots. She started her clinical journey working at public hospitals and later on co-founded a psychological site that offers data on different topics such as anxiety, depression, eating disorders, sexuality, self-knowledge, and many others, trying to make mental health available to many that do not have access to it, and trying to eradicate mental stigma.

Education
What I'm excited to bring to Fitcy Health members:
I am excited to bring and share my psychological expertise and contribute to intercultural understanding by viewing differences and understanding our common humanity. I think it is very important that we become aware that to work on our mental health is essential, and we must discourage all stigma that many erroneously be conferred on the fact of consulting psychological help. Just as, when your are physically sick your consult a doctor the same is valid for our mental health. Luckily today people are becoming aware that working on emotional issues should not be seen in a negative fashion but as a central to personal wellbeing. I aim to help patients but into practice adequate tools to be able to deal with their emotional, cognitive and behavioural issues. Being aware that the global pandemic is having and will have it repercussions on us humans, having personal therapeutical spaces can contribute to greater equilibrium and self-knowledge.
