Mateus is 27 years old and he is from a very small town in the State of São Paulo (Brazil). Since he was a child, he used to think about how amazing human behavior is. For instance, what triggers and maintains a behavior. His curiosity led him to choose Psychology and at the age of 17, he got accepted into one of the most prestigious Psychology bachelor’s in the State of São Paulo, at the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas. Once he discovered his passion for Clinical Psychology and Research he decided to focus on this pathway so he did internships in hospitals and clinics to gain experience. In the last year of his bachelor's, he got into a long-term course in Behavior Analysis in which he could enhance his knowledge and love of behavior analysis. After his graduation in the year 2019, he joined his professors in their private practice. In 2020, he got accepted into a Master's Degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, and Human Sciences Program at the University of Pavia, Italy. And he got the title of Masters in Neuroscience with the thesis "Facial Affect Reading after an Aversive Visual Stimulation". He has been working as a Clinical Psychologist since 2019 and the focus of his practice has been mood disorders, anxiety and stress, personality disorders, and grieving. In his free time he loves to read Harry Potter at coffee houses, travel to different places and be in touch with other cultures.

What you can expect from your first session:
Skinner (1979) once said, “Regard no practice as immutable. Change and be ready to change again. Accept no eternal verity. Experiment”. This last word “experiment” is crucial for my aim here. I understand that sometimes is very hard to change, however, we must allow ourselves to experiment to increase our repertoire and live a fulfilled and happy life. I am here to help you with the tools of this experiment. Furthermore, I also would like to help you to understand your interaction with your environment and relationships, for instance, what triggers and maintain your behavior, mainly those that you consider harmful.
