Joe Acoury is a highly experienced Gestalt Therapist and Trainer with over 30 years of practice. He holds a BA in psychology from St Joseph University in Beirut and a postgraduate degree in clinical psychology from the Lebanese University. Joe's early clinical work took place in various hospitals under psychiatric and psychoanalytic supervision before he established his own practice. He completed a comprehensive training program in 1990, specializing in Gestalt Therapy and interactional group therapy. Certified by the Gestalt Therapy and Training Center, Joe has since provided training in Gestalt Therapy to students at different educational levels. He is a chartered member of the International Gestalt Therapy Association and has affiliations with PPCI and OPTUM International, where he briefs and debriefs critical cases. Joe's practice focuses on individual brief therapy or psychotherapy for individuals with depressive states, excessive mentalization, and increased distancing due to COVID-19 concerns. He also advises parents on raising children with learning difficulties and mood disorders, promotes diet compliance awareness, and offers integrative memory adjustment for seniors. Additionally, Joe conducts group therapy sessions to help individuals resolve inner conflicts and facilitates experiential training to prepare students and professionals for challenging contexts. With his extensive expertise and commitment to his clients' well-being, Joe Acoury is a trusted practitioner dedicated to healing and personal growth.
